1st april is a day to be careful， or you could easily get tricked by someone. it’s april fool’s day， a day when people traditionally like to try to make a fool of someone else and laugh at them.
there are lots of theories surrounding the origins of the day， but one explanation is connected with the change in the calendar in the 16th century， which meant that 1st april was no longer the beginning of the year. those who still celebrated the new year on 1st april were called fools.
so what kind of pranks do people play on april fool’s day？ well， there are lots of simple tricks that you can play on your friends. for example， you could wear a black sweater and pull a piece of white thread through it， so that people try to pull it off. you could change the time on someone’s alarm clock so that they’re late for work. or glue a coin to the floor and see how many people try to pick it up.
all these are small—scale practical jokes which you might play on one other person or a few people. but there’s also a tradition of large companies attempting to fool a lot of people. for example a burger restaurant once claimed that they were introducing a left—handed burger！
in particular， the media often try to make people believe something which is not true. newspapers publish some ludicrous stories every year， although some of them are actually true. it’s entertaining to try to guess which stories are true and which are fake. in the april fool’s stories， they often include a clue to the fact that it’s a joke. for example the name of an ‘expert’ quoted in the article might be an anagram of ‘april fool’.

西方人在愚人节这一天里，我可以捉弄你，你也可以捉弄我，但是大家很公平公开，都有心理准备。这种捉弄带有儿戏的性质，是完全无害的，因为其中并不掺杂任何功利的心思，他们不会兜售假冒伪劣产品，不会把自己的私利说成国家利益。他们的这种快乐是双方共享的，一旦看到对方就要真正被愚弄，愚人者立即会揭穿自己，及时终止恶作剧。说到底，

诚实守信，是中华民族的优良传统。人们也经常讲诚信，在学校里同样要求我们的老师同学讲诚信。可是，部分同学的诚信意识还是比较薄弱。犯了错误，他们宁可说谎欺骗老师、家长。甚至更为严重的还存在着诚信危机。如考试作弊，抄袭作业，破坏校园公物等等，这些行为，严重影响到一个人的道德品质。
我们知道，一个领导干部如果不讲诚信，那么他在群众中就没有威信;一个企业家，如果不讲诚信，那么，他在商业竞争中就难以取胜。一个学生，如果他不守诚信，那么他就会养成不诚实的习惯，将来无法在社会上立足!
所以我希望大家能够从我做起，从小事做起，做一名诚实守信的中学生。我们有可能管不了社会上的事，但我们应该能管好自己，做一个诚信的人吧!在这里向大家提三点要求：
(一)诚实待人，严格要求自己，言行一致，不说谎，不抄袭、不作弊。以真诚的言行对待他人，作业和考试求真实。
(二)做到守时、守信、有责任心，承诺的事情一定要做到，言必信、行必果。犯了错误，勇于承担应有的责任，知错就改。
(三)遵守法律法规、校规校纪和社会公德的教育，培养法律意识和规则意识，具备良好的道德品质。

今天是愚人节。早上我貌似真的被老天愚弄了一番。今天的英语课是我们学习小组讲本单元的课文背景，这是我们老师amy昨天晚上发短信过来跟我们说的，然而我收到短信的时候还根本没做好，只是之前稍微找了些资料!于是昨晚立马赶工做ppt。我本以为今天已经把ppt拷到u盘了的，可是到了教室的时候发现没有……无奈，只好立马跑回寝室拷过来!
今天讲的时候我更多的不是用英语，而是用中文，因为之前也没有认真准备过，那个ppt上呈现的都只是一些图片，没有任何实质性的内容。而我临时打印出来的资料也很多是文言文……所以就用中文讲了。那时我的汗啊!背都有点湿湿的……
晚上是学习标兵的评选活动，我虽然准备了ppt、讲稿，但没怎么去练习，也谈不上去背!其实我的学习成绩也不是最好，从昨天晚上听的`那些讲的人到今晚在我之前的几乎每个人都是至少二等奖学金……我的妈啊，我一次二等或一等都没拿过……无所谓了，我一直告诉自己我的定位是：不重结果，只享受其中的过程。我在讲之前一直很紧张……然而我就拿出手机在看看新闻之类的，缓解一下紧张的心情。效果还不错……等我上去讲的时候已没有之前等待时那么紧张了。我在出示ppt的时候，底下的同学有在笑，可我又不知道他们在笑什么，所以搞得我一头雾水，不知不觉有点变紧张起来，不过还好。本来是准备好讲稿，如果实在不行就按着讲稿念。可是等我真正开始讲的时候，我已经不按讲稿来了，差不多很多都是即兴发挥了。不过我后来在讲ppt的时候意识到原来底下的同学在笑我参加志愿者活动中的“知心姐姐”。汗!我不得不做出一下解释!俺是学心理的，参加这个组织最合适不过了，虽然我是一个男生!不过这有什么关系呢?!
我讲着讲着很多我之前准备的都讲漏了，因为讲稿的顺序早已被我打乱了。坐在寝室里我回想着这个过程，发现，以后如果参加这种活动，还不如直接列些要点上去，也不用填充进去会更好，因为我上次给一部门干事开会的时候就是看着那几个要点，即兴扩散。这样的话要点都可以完全囊括了，也可以锻炼我的临场发挥了，免得忘记一些东西……听同学的反馈说我讲的时候太多口头语了，还是和上次上心理学史课一样……唉，这个毛病真麻烦，一不注意就出现了，即使注意了可能也很难改掉!
这次学习标兵的评比的结果我相信自己是没戏的，而且我也没怎么在乎!我紧张，只是我在乎我上台的机会，一种锻炼我口才、能力的机会。我作为一名师范生，我迫切希望这种机会，尤其是我这样舞台表演经验不足，容易怯场的人!如果还有机会，我还是会一如既往的参加，即使给我带来的是一次又一次的惨淡结局。i don't care!

first of all, it shows that we chinese have become much opener rather than clinging to some very old customs, which are opposite our living. looking back on the history, we can find the answer to why our china was very poor and weak in the 1800’s. yes, the answer is that we closed ourselves not to let other countries know about us, and this led us to a very hard road on which we suffered many wars that many european countries launched. so i think it is more than necessary to accept other customs instead of closing ourselves. of course, festivals are just the beginning.
what’s more, the open and reform policy results in this. so i want to say it is a great achievement for the policy. since we took the policy into practice, our country is developing with a rapid speed. no doubt it is an essential trend.

growing up as a child, april fools day was the one holiday i never felt clever enough to take part in. i was creative enough to make a costume for halloween, or bake a dozen heart-shaped cookies on valentine's day, but i never had any good ideas for playing pranks.
in elementary school, all my classmates would prepare a joke to play on april fools day. the joke was usually meant to be played on the teacher, and, for a week in advance, all the students would get together at lunch to plan out what the prank was going to be. this went on for years- since i went to a grade school with the same thirty students for all of primary school.
i was proud of myself for getting the courage to suggest the prank, and i was even more proud that people liked it- including my teacher. it was a moment in my childhood that i'll never forget, and i'm sure the school never has either.
